The Pawling Food Service Department is proud to participate in the USDA’s School Breakfast Program and National School Lunch Program, administered by the New York State Education Department’s Child Nutrition Office. Through these programs, student participation directly supports our funding, allowing us to continuously improve meal quality. Our goal is to maximize state and federal funding by featuring high-quality, local ingredients on our menus as often as possible. We are deeply grateful to our families and community—your choice to enjoy school meals empowers us to bring creative, high-quality dining to our schools each year.

Pawling Central School District is officially certified in the New York State 30% Initiative. Over the past several school years, we have remained dedicated to purchasing and serving New York-grown and certified foods. Reaching the 30% milestone unlocks state funding to offset the higher costs of supporting small farmers, local businesses, and regional processors. NYS-certified items are noted on our monthly lunch menus, though many of our daily fruit and vegetable options—as well as our Hudson Valley Fresh milk—are also sourced locally. Reaching and maintaining this standard year after year is an ongoing commitment we are proud to uphold.  We have certified through the Ag & Markets deprtment as a NYS 30% initiative school since 2023.

Additionally, our team is excited to present a diverse Menu that introduces students to flavors and traditions from around the world. By highlighting cultural cuisines, we invite our school community to explore new tastes, celebrate different cultures, and foster global curiosity right from the cafeteria.

  • Free Meal Program for 2026-2027

    We are pleased to announce that all students enrolled in Pawling Central School District will receive free breakfast and lunch meals during the 2026-2027 school year. This initiative is made possible by the USDA’s expansion of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) and New York State subsidies, which allows participating schools to offer meals at no cost to all families. No additional paperwork or eligibility criteria are required for families to access this benefit.

    Although school meals are free for all students, it is still very important for families to complete the income form. Doing so may qualify your household for additional benefits through Pawling Central School District and New York State, including Summer EBT programs. These forms also help our district secure valuable funding that supports student programs and services.

    You can complete the form online through this website or request a paper copy by calling the Food Service Office. If you qualify, please take a few minutes to fill it out—your participation benefits both your family and our entire school community.
